A True "Living Will"

A dear friend of my mother wrote the following article. It was printed in her local newspaper. Her prayer was that at least one person be touched by the Holy Spirit and drawn to his or her Savior. Do you have a Living Will?

What is a “Living Will”? A Living will authorizes when or if you want life support to be removed and others cannot then make that choice for you. However, you may also authorize others – doctors, family members, pastors etc. to help in the decision.

Ultimately God makes the final decision. He could have extended Terri Schiavo’s life. He decides when life ends. The most important point and question to ask is this: Are you ready to meet God when death’s door opens? If you have not met Him, loved Him, served Him as your Savior from sin, you are not ready even if you have a “Living Will”.

God’s Word, the Bible gives us all the instructions we need and the Holy Spirit puts faith in our hearts and lives as God speaks to us through that Word. Having a Living Will is important, but in the end being ready to meet the Almighty Savior God in person is what really matters. For if we are not ready, living in eternity without God’s love is a choice, which cannot be changed after death. It’s a horrible choice.

God loved the world so very much, He sent His only Son, Jesus to save us for eternity. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
(John 3:16,17)

By Ruth Knoke (Bradenton, Florida)  God answered yes to her prayer.

She writes:

At 7 A.M. on the morning of April 18th my phone rang and a gentleman said, “Is this Ruth?” “Yes”, I answered. “I just read your letter to the editor and I want to thank you for writing it. Thank you very much!” and he hung up. I hadn’t read the paper yet so hurried to check. Thanks Lord! Wow! Look at the title they gave it! How did he find me – probably because we are the only “Knoke” in the Bradenton phone book? Amazing how our Lord answers our prayers’ isn’t it…

Are you ready?       Do you know where you will spend eternity?
